Chile’s earthquake affected Earth’s Rotation axis. The day is now 1.26 microseconds shorter!

This was discovered a group of NASA scientists. The planet’s axis shifted 8 cm.

According to information collected by the portal ‘Business Week’, the scientists used a computer model to calculate the effects of the earthquake and found that on Saturday the day was shortened 1.26 microseconds (millionths of seconds) and that the axis of Earth moved about 8 centimeters.
